reiki is an ancient healing form

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing form of alternative therapy that dates back at least 2,500 years. The word “Reiki” is a combination of two Japanese words “rei”, which means God’s wisdom or Higher Power, and “ki”, which refers to the life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) is translated to mean “Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy.”

By channeling this universal life force energy, Reiki practitioners can promote healing, relaxation, and overall well-being. Reiki can do no harm and is easy for anyone to learn and use.

My attunement is in the Usui/Crystalline Reiki System of Natural Healing, emphasizing a combination of the methods uncovered by Dr. Mikao Usui while accepting the energy offered to us by the Crystalline Grid.

During a Reiki session, healing energy is channeled to the recipient. This may be done with the recipient present or at a distance, even many miles away. Because Reiki can flow in this fashion, it is ideal for some that do not wish for direct contact or hands-on treatment but still want to benefit from the healing energy. The goal is to balance and harmonize the energy within the body, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Animal Reiki is an extension of traditional Reiki and focuses on promoting healing and relaxation to animals. The principles of Animal Reiki are like those of human Reiki, but practitioners adapt their techniques and approach to the needs and sensitivities of animals. Animals are believed to be naturally more receptive to energy healing due to their lack of skepticism and openness to holistic approaches.

During a Reiki session, emphasis is placed on the importance of respecting an animals’ boundaries and allowing them to choose how much, if any, contact they want during a session. Just like with human Reiki, the goal of Animal Reiki is to create a sense of balance, calm, and well-being in the animal’s body and mind. It can be particularly useful in reducing stress, anxiety, and physical discomfort in animals.

During and after a Reiki session, animals often experience a deep state of peace as the Reiki clears imbalances, allowing for new and harmonious patterns of health and wellness to emerge. Animal Reiki offers several potential benefits, including:

  • Stress Reduction: Animals, like humans, can experience stress, and Reiki may help alleviate their stress and anxiety.
  • Physical healing: Animal Reiki may aid in the healing process for various physical conditions and injuries by promoting relaxation and boosting the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
  • Behavioral Improvement: Animals with behavioral issues might benefit from the calming effects of Reiki, which may help address underlying emotional or psychological imbalances.
  • Bond Strengthening: Practicing Reiki with animals can deepen the bond between the animal and their caregiver, as it fosters a sense of trust and connection.
  • End-of-Life Care: Animal Reiki can provide comfort and support for animals nearing the end of their lives, helping them transition peacefully.

Reiki sessions – both human and animal – range from 30-60 minutes.

Reiki training classes are offered periodically. Please contact me for information on the next scheduled training.

Reiki, including Animal Reiki, is considered a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for veterinary care. If an animal is unwell, it’s important to consult a qualified Veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment.
